New Timetable
New year, new timetable! January 2025 saw the start of a the new term running up until April 18th. It is once again jam packed with both new activities and old favourites as well. We were so excited to welcome everyone back after a lovely long break for Christmas and New Years.
Here is to another amazing year in Lakers!🎉✨
Funderland
Back at the beginning of January, just as Lakers classes started back, Funderland invited Lakers to bring some of our members to join them for a morning on the rides! So a gang of our members as well as Hannah and Clare K braved the freezing weather and headed off to the RDS and enjoyed a few hours out in Funderland! They had a blast going on rides, enjoying candyfloss and of course hanging out with friends. Sounds like the perfect Wednesday morning to me! As you can see Hannah and Clare got in on all the fun and treats as well. 🎢🍭

Shankill interclub Tennis tournament
Back at the start of January Shankill Tennis Club hosted an awesome interclub tennis event, and they were kind enough to invite Lakers members to join in on the action! 
Diane and our tennis-loving crew had a blast competing in games, showing off their skills, and soaking up the great vibes.

Starting the New year off right
Every January the cookery classes kick off the new to a healthy start! After all the partying and feasting we all get to do over Christmas, Niamh whips up a 4 whole weeks of tasty and healthy vegetarian recipes like Black bean Burgers, Shepherdess Pie – made with lentils and beans as well as a gorgeous veggie lasagne which all go down a storm!
So no more feeling bloated and low on energy, 
More fruits, more veggies, more energy and a fresh start to the new year!

Galway Family Respite Weekend
Lakers ended our very busy January with our annual Family Respite Weekend trip to Galway. As always the weekend was a roaring success. The ever amazing staff in the Galway Bay Hotel were friendly, accommodating and so lovely to talk to. All those who went for the weekend had nothing but great reviews of the whole trip. We had our usual Family Dinner on the Saturday night after a great day cheering on Ireland in the Rugby together. Well done to the boys in green! We even had a crew who braved the cold Atlantic Ocean for a dip each morning! We cannot wait to see you all there again next year!
