Lakers Sports & Social and Le Chéile Taekwon-do group took to the roads to Limerick this past weekend to take Part in the ITA National Championship
The Lakers Sports & Social and Le Chéile Taekwon-Do group had an unforgettable Saturday at the ITA National Championships in Limerick on Saturday the 8th of November 2025! It was a day filled with excitement, teamwork, and achievement as our members took to the mats to showcase their skills and hard work.
This year was particularly special for our Inclusive Section, which saw 15 members competing — our largest number yet!
Rory Murphy, Taekwon-do head coach says ‘It’s inspiring to see how this section continues to grow stronger and more confident each year, with athletes pushing their limits and supporting one another at every step’.
Adding to the excitement, Lakers Spots & Social had our first-ever entries in the Special Technique division, marking an important milestone for our team. The determination and enthusiasm on display throughout the day truly reflected the spirit of inclusion and growth that defines our group.
A massive congratulations goes to Jack Curran, who earned a Silver medal in Junior Patterns, and Adam Martin, who took home Gold in Senior Patterns! Both showed fantastic focus and skill on the mats, and we couldn’t be prouder of their achievements.
Of course, every participant represented the club with heart and dedication, making their coaches — Rory, Clare, and Jamie — incredibly proud. The progress shown in strength, skill, and confidence is a testament to the consistent effort put in by all our members throughout the year.
Finally, we’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Irish Taekwon-Do Association (ITA) for organising such a well-run and welcoming event. Competitions like this provide invaluable experience for all athletes, and we’re already looking forward to the next one!
🥋 Well done to everyone involved — your hard work and spirit continue to inspire our entire community!
