About Us
Lakers Sports and Social is a unique and vibrant organisation based in Bray, Co. Wicklow, dedicated to enriching the
lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities. We provide our 350 members with the opportunity to participate in
over 70 sporting and social activities in a supportive and inclusive environment. These activities play a key role in
enhancing our members’ self-esteem, social skills, health, and fitness, empowering them to engage actively in their
communities.

In addition to a dedicated team of staff, Lakers is supported by a network of 140 volunteers who are vital to delivering our programs. Volunteers assist in running classes, support coaches and tutors, and help with the daily operations of the organisation.

We are seeking to recruit a Part-Time Cleaner / Maintenance Assistant to help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for our members, volunteers and staff.

About the Role:
This is a practical, hands-on role responsible for supporting the day-to-day cleanliness and upkeep of the Lakers facility. The successful candidate will help ensure that our building and activity spaces remain clean, safe and ready for the wide range of programmes that take place throughout the week. The role will primarily focus on cleaning duties, with some light maintenance and general facility support tasks as needed.

Hours: 15 hrs per week based in Lakers, The St. Andrews Centre, Bray, Co. Wicklow.
Monday’s, Tuesday’s and Thursday’s

Key Responsibilities:
• Carry out general cleaning duties across the facility including activity rooms, offices, corridors and shared spaces
• Clean and maintain toilets and common areas to a high standard
• Manage waste disposal and recycling
• Support the general upkeep of the building to ensure a safe and welcoming environment
• Carry out basic maintenance tasks such as minor repairs, changing light bulbs and reporting maintenance issues
• Assist with setting up and tidying activity rooms as required
• Ensure cleaning supplies are stocked and stored appropriately
• Maintain good health and safety practices at all times
• Assist with opening or locking up the building when required
• Work collaboratively with staff and volunteers to support the smooth running of the center

About You:
• Some previous cleaning or facilities experience would be beneficial, though training can be provided
• Reliable, practical and able to work independently
• Good attention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean and safe environment
• A positive and flexible attitude
• Comfortable working in a busy community setting
• Friendly and approachable with good communication skills
