Why Lakers Matters
Our Impact“We are beyond lucky to have this inclusive, activity packed, club on our doorstep! It gives my son a place to hang out with his friends, take part in sports and learn new skills. WE LOVE LAKERS! ❤️”
“Matthew joined Lakers for a second time aged 11 after a few very harrowing years, I have seen him blossom into a fine young man, very happy with his mates in Lakers. He really enjoys his activities, be it Athletics, Swimming, Drama and the social side in Drop-In. The Disco’s are another highlight!”
“Lakers was the first place I felt I didn’t need to explain my son or ask people to accommodate him. He was welcomed with open arms and accepted for who he is. I have no doubt that he would not be the rounded, sociable person he is today without Lakers and his friends there. He has formed bonds for life that will take him into adulthood with a support group and true friendship.”
“Lakers means a lot to Gary and family. They have built up his confidence from a shy to an outgoing, confident person. A thank you to Sandra, who has been there for Gary from the day he started and always looks out for him. Thanks to all the staff, volunteers past and present.”
Did you know?
Lakers typically receive less than 40% of its income from Government or European funding. So, it is thanks to our amazing donors, fundraisers, sponsors and volunteers that Lakers are able to offer the activities and space we do to our over 360 members from all over Wicklow and Dublin.
